JUST THE RIGHT NUMBER
Jeremy & Judith Bass of the Grimsby Branch are pictured below with some of the students
from Year 7 of Louth Academy after they received GOOD NEWS for Everyone! Youth
Testaments.
Jeremy (who is also Region 4 Director) and Jude knew there were
around 180 students available to present to, so loaded two boxes
of Testaments into their car, one of which was full plus a newly
opened box, understanding this would be enough.
The Assistant Principal introduced the assembly and produced
his own Testament from his pocket, saying how useful it is to
him, to help and guide him through life.
During the presentation Jeremy and Jude majored on ‘hope’ and
‘choices have consequences’, these being themes the school
wish to promote. In closing the assembly, the Assistant Principal
referred to the school’s mission statement “Aspirational
Education” and said we could replace the word ‘aspirational’
with ‘hope’. He explained we all need hope in those tough
times in life, which none of us can avoid.
Only one girl ‘slipped through’ without taking a Testament.
Nine students remained to be photographed receiving their
Testaments and there were exactly nine Testaments left!
Jeremy and Jude have been invited back to Louth Academy
to be involved in further lessons. A picture of God at work.
Praise Him!

“Following my talk”, Michael tells us, “the then Vicar,
Revd. Mark Griffiths, contacted me and asked if I would
like to join him for “Padre’s Hour” at the local Air Training
Corps (ATC), where he was the Squadron Chaplain, to
expand on my talk about our work. Before anything
could be done however, Rev. Griffiths moved to a new
appointment but his successor, Rev. Anne Bourne took
matters further.
She was impressed when I showed her the ATC Badged
Testaments and wanted to explore how the Testaments
could be offered to each new ATC recruit at their annual
Enrolment Parade. Usually this is held in their Drill Hall,
but the Commanding Officer had agreed for the event to
be held in Rev, Bourne’s church. The Cadets would make
their “promise” in public, with many parents and friends
present. After each cadet was enrolled, I was to give a
