Wight Outlook
During this past year Isle of Wight branch We hold a street outreach in Ryde High Street when the
members have distributed more Scriptures weather is good - every other week in the summer and
than ever and have much to give thanks to monthly during the winter. This has resulted in being able
to have many good conversations with passers-by and a
the Lord for. good number of Testaments taken from the table.
As well as all the members who have given of their time To God be the glory!
to this exciting ministry, we give thanks for the eight
Secondary Schools we have access to. After much prayer Submitted by Isle of Wight Branch for their Regional
Newsletter. We enjoyed reading their report so much,
we also thank the Lord for opening the door to a school
in Sandown which had been closed to us for the past we thought you would too!
five years. Last year the Head Teacher asked us to cover
Years 10 and 11 as he did not want his students to miss the
opportunity to receive a Testament. The school asked if
we would visit again to cover Years 8 and 9. We are also
encouraged how many teachers have been pleased to
receive a Personal Worker Testament (PWT).
Many of the residents on the Isle of Wight are elderly
people, some who are in care homes. Most homes are
happy to accept Large Print Testaments and HOPE
magazines, with staff receiving PWT’s. Eighty-eight care
homes have been visited, with 180 Large Print Testaments
accepted, 150 PWT’s given to staff and 58 HOPE
magazines distributed.
We have a good relationship with the Chaplain at the Isle
of Wight prison. Before lockdown we had the privilege
of spending a day in the prison to share what the Lord
is doing through the ministry. One prisoner shared his
testimony, how he came to faith since being in prison
as the result of receiving a Bible from the Chaplain.
Another person asked how he could become a Christian.
