A SMALL
MINISTRY
MAKING A
BIG
DIFFERENCE
Mamdouh is an Egyptian, living in Canada.
He was working with Campus Crusade for
Christ in Jerusalem when he met his wife.
They then spent 10 years with their three
children living in Bethlehem, leading Campus
Crusade for Christ in the West Bank, Gaza and
Arab Israel. At Connexions 2024, Mamdouh
shared with us the challenges facing Muslim
background believers, who are known as
MBBs for safety reasons.
"We have more than 400 million Muslims in the Middle
East, 25% of them live in Egypt. Only 5% of people in
Egypt are Christian. Yemen is fifth on the list of countries
who persecute Christians. North Korea heads the list, with
Somalia second, Libya third and Afghanistan fourth. Yemen
is a very tough country to live in.
Last summer we received a great gift from you - Bibles
were sent to Lebanon to help the MBBs. Last year we were
able to share the Gospel with more than 301,000 people,
many from a Muslim background, and over 90,000 Spark
magazines were given to young people.
We are a small ministry with seven full-time staff who look
after over 300 disciples inside Yemen. An active Christian
lady in Yemen was arrested by the police and put in jail.
During her time in jail, she was always praying, although she
did not have a Bible. The jailer was a Muslim and was very
aggressive with her – she was looked on as having betrayed
Islam. However, after three or four weeks, the jailer asked the
Christian woman a question. She wanted to know how the
THE CHURCH CANNOT Christian was so kind to her and how she was different. The
CONTAIN THE NUMBERS OF Christian lady explained how she had met with Jesus and
He showed her the way to eternal life. After many days of
NEW BELIEVERS JOINING questions and answers, the jailer bowed down and accepted
EVERY DAY Christ as her Saviour. They both serve the Lord full time now.
