                                                                  a very hot day). Some people accepted magazines, some
                                                                  received prayer, and some encouraged us with their
                                                                  Christian faith.
                                                                  Friday was in an adjacent area, which I was told was
                                                                  definitely not Kawangware (which is a large and poor
                                                                  slum) but rather Dagoretti – another, but less densely
                                                                  populated, slum. Here I was with yet another different
                                                                  group of Kenyan local church members. I continue to
                                                                  pray that all these local volunteer missioners we spent
                                                                  time with were encouraged in the work of evangelism; I
                                                                  was certainly inspired by their zeal.
                                                                  Moving on, we came across various people who were
                                                                  already Christians, people who were willing to talk but
                                                                  not ready to accept the gift of salvation, and people who
                                                                  were willing to talk about various needs that we prayed
                                                                  with them about. Coming out of a garage premises, we
                                                                  met George, who asked us: “What are you selling?” –
                                                                  slightly pugnacious but not hostile. This was unusual, as
                                                                  people generally were most welcoming, even deferential.
                                                                  However, I took it as an invitation to explain about the
                                                                  very valuable thing that we were indeed offering, but for
                                                                  no charge! This led into a good conversation, and George
                                                                  gave his life to the Lord.
                                                                  A bit later, we had a disappointing conversation with one
                                                                  lady in a courtyard, but just as we just came back out
                                                                  onto the street we bumped into a young couple called
                                                                  Collins and Michell. They were very happy to talk and
                                                                  accept the need for salvation, which they received, but
                                                                  while I was still talking to them, our colleagues engaged
                                                                  with a group of three young men that walked past. They
